Katelijne Schrama completed her goldsmith craftsmanship education at Vakschool Schoonhoven (the Netherlands) in 1996. In 1995 a silver bracelet was exhibited at the Class of ’95, a Goldsmiths’ Company Exhibition in the United Kingdom. She did her internship 1995/96 in Berlin (Germany) and Amsterdam (the Netherlands). After getting her goldsmith degree she studied at the Audiovisual Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (BA) where she, among other things, produced a short film for her end exam in 2000.
While working as a documentary film director she started making jewelry in her spare time between projects. In 2015 she decided to apply for her master sign. She works mostly with: 18k gold, 14k gold, 925 silver, gem stones, pearls. Al jewelry pieces are handmade and therefore unique.
Sometime people find a stone high on a mountain and would like to make that in a piece of jewelry. Or they have seen a necklace when they were young and still would like to wear something like that too. So besides working on her own designed jewelry she also works on assignments.
